Industry News/Events
Canadian Federal Skilled Worker applicants will be admitted based on occupation

According to Ontario Immigration Minister Michael Chan, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has established a list of 38 occupations that will be used for the selection of Federal Skilled Worker applicants. CIC Minister Diane Finley informed provincial immigration ministers about the list earlier this month.

Applicants whose occupations are on this list and who meet the minimum points requirements under the Federal Skilled Worker category will be qualified for Permanent Residency. Those whose occupations are not on the list, will need to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency through the Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP).

New fast-track immigration category for applicants with Canadian experience

International graduates and temporary foreign workers have established themselves in Canadian society and are well-poised to become Permanent Residents and eventually Canadian citizens.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), a new immigration category, has been created specifically to facilitate this transition. Recognizing their Canadian education and/or work experience, the Canadian Experience Class will fast-track their Canadian immigration applications, to ensure that Canada retains these valuable contributors to the Canadian economy and work force. Under the CEC, these applicants can remain in Canada throughout the processing of their applications.
Tips and Tricks

Any text box with a maroon outline
is a hot link box. Just type in any part of first, last or company name and select from a dynamic list that pops up to link that record. Case forms have this new feature to link Beneficiary and Petitioner contacts.
